ILLUSTRATION – This was Versatile’s flagship tractor for 2010, illustrated from photo reference. I actually drove one and it was like driving a very large truck… until you dropped an implement, then it felt like it could tear the world apart.
My partner ran a French immersion pre-school, and this was the update to the logo I designed.
PAPERCRAFT – For a company-event invitation, I adapted a folding box top with the client’s logo into a flat-folding envelope.
Helping a designer update the Calgary’s Heritage Park logo (to the current one) I also created iterations of possible updates, this one is a single piece of live type.
ILLUSTRATION – This is an old illustration project based on a printed piece. I recreated it faithfully using Illustrator 3.0.
PAPERCRAFT – Here’s a paper design I created for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. It took about 25 mockups to perfect this design as it also had to fit on three 8.5 x 11-inch sheets.. I did the die-cut design, layout and instructions. Horse and kid illustrations by Dean Parker; original concept by Rob Stevens. It achieved an Ad Rodeo Merit.
I had the fortune to work directly with Art director Louis Krynski who created the logo (I took his sketches to iine art). Even better was being assigned to place layout options on a “blank” jet, a Boeing 737-200, that made their way through all the approvals to ultimately be put on every WestJet aircraft. I did that.
ILLUSTRATION – Given the basic feel for the project (fonts, logos, etc.) create a loyalty card. This was produced in Adobe Illustrator and, at the time, blending was quite complex.
Some illustrations I did for a friend’s barber shop.
